THREAD OF CREATIVITY - Fashion Design Competition

“Thread of Creativity” is a fashion design competition organised by the Sham Shui Po District Youth Development and Civic Education Committee, and co-organised by the Sham Shui Po District Office and Hong Kong New People’s Lions Club. It encourages young people aged 16–29 to pursue careers in fashion design, showcasing their courage, creativity and talent while identifying promising local young designers.

 

This edition took “Sham Shui Po” as its theme. Participants explored the district’s unique community vibe, street culture, old-area history, fabric wholesale markets and everyday local life, blending these authentic stories with personal creativity.

 

They cleverly incorporated recycled old fabrics, upcycling techniques, street style and traditional handicrafts with modern cutting and trendy aesthetics, creating designs that are both down-to-earth and forward-looking, while highlighting sustainable fashion and community heritage.
